Latest Updates from Our Project:
Codes for the Digital Music were sent out!

Hello valued and esteemed backers!
This is a quick update just to let you know that the codes for the digital soundtrack downloads have been emailed out by IndieBox. If you pledged at a tier to get the sound track ($60 and up), or if you purchased this as an add-on, you should have received an email by now with instructions on how to download this.
Some of our fans have mentioned on the forum that the IndieBox email was automatically filtered into their Promotions folder by Gmail, so if you think you should have received this digital download link, please check your Promotions folder or Junk Mail folder. If you don't see it, then go ahead and send an email to [email protected] and let them know.
Also, prior to sending these codes out, a couple weeks ago IndieBox sent out the soundtrack CDs (with artbook). If you pledged at a level to get the Collectible Boxed Set ($300) or if you purchased the boxed set as an add-on, then you should have received the CD. This has confused a few people since we didn't intend to send these our separately from the boxed sets. The reason we did this was simply because the vinyl album and CD became available on thefunkotronshop.com and it didn't seem fair that backers should have to wait until the game was done to get their music. So we decided to pay for the shipping twice so you don't need to wait.
For anyone that feels they should have received something and haven't - you can email [email protected]. Likewise, if you can't remember what you ordered (it was a long time ago) feel free to send an email to that address to ask.
If your mailing address has changed, and you haven't updated us yet, you can let Indiebox know about this too.
If you would like to get the soundtrack and haven't ordered it yet, feel free to drop by http://www.thefunkotronshop.com and grab yourself some funky tunes. If you want to get a vinyl but don't have a turntable and want to save on money... I might recommend this one:
I recently bought one and I love it! It's under $100 and delivers great quality sound (you will need some speakers though and if you want to play TJ&E audio you'll want speakers that can really handle some heavy bass - maybe get a sub-woofer too. ;)
The game is still on it's way... lots of testing and debugging still going on hereabouts. Sorry for the wait gang, and thank you for hanging in there.

YES! We are still here and the game is coming!

Hi gang!
I've heard from some of you that are anxious for an update. Needless to say it's always more fun to wait until we have some exciting news to share, or big announcements to make. Still, maybe it's worth just giving you a heads up so you can know this train is still chugging forward. We have been waist deep in debugging and porting and optimizing the game. This work is generally not that exciting but one nice side effect of having to spend time on this is that it gives us additional time to spot ways we can polish the game. Many times little observations we have from playing the game can make the game a much better play experience.
Here are a couple of examples just from this week...
When you played the original TJ&E game if a player died they could request an extra life from the other player. This was great until the other player only had one life left - then you had to wait until they got another life. Booooring. Or how about this situation... one player falls down 4 levels because of rocket skates and you have to just wait until they can get alllll the way back up. Of course you could leap down too and help them out but... nah. "I'd rather just wait here in the this nice safe elevator and not waste my presents". Now imagine a 3 or 4 player game where this happens a lot. We've been noticing things like this as we play-test and have been coming up with creative solutions to make the game more fun. For example, now when you die you become a ghost and you can scare Earthlings away by going "OOooohhhhh". You can teleport between the other players as a ghost, and also bump presents and food on the ground. This week we added in an additional ghost ability that allows you to make hidden presents pop out of bushes by "ooooohhhing" near a bush or tree, and special conversations between ghosts and players. Now players can have fun just being dead, and might even choose to stay a ghost for awhile longer.
For the case where players have fallen many levels, our artist Connie had a great idea.... we've added in a much greater chance that players will find a "Togetherness Go" present. (In this game we have "Togetherness GO" which takes you to another player (they you select) and "Togetherness COME" which brings you to another player. Simple solution right? But it REALLY makes a difference in the play experience.
Here is another fun example of polish... in this game you may remember that all of your presents can be super-charged. (we call this "Amped" in the game). Presents can be a mixed blessing as you know - sometimes good and sometimes bad... well if a Total Bummer present just kills you....what would you expect an Amped Total Bummer to do? We just made it create a TOTAL big explosion and kills everything in a radius, including Earthlings. Now you can kamikaze! Or the Burning up present - which is new for this game. It makes you catch on fire and run around losing life until you jump into water or off the edge of a level (or use a Rain Cloud present!) Now an Amped Burning Up present also makes Earthlings you run into catch on fire as well. :)
We also spiced up the animations this week giving each of the Funkotronians their own dance moves and we added in a secret new way to sneak up on Santa. Just use your invisibility present and he...DOH!!! I wasn't supposed to tell you that!
Last week our bassist Cody Wright came out to visit us. He played the game and said "Hey, why isn't there any special funky music on these secret levels?" and we said "um... wanna make us something?" and Cody whipped out his bass (which he ALWAYS carries - no lie) and gave us this funky riff for us to drop in. So cool.
This is all just to say that the longer this game takes us to debug and get finished the better it gets. We're doing our best to make this a game you will never want to stop playing. So hang in there and keep the faith. It's going to be awesome. And as soon as we have any news I'll give you a shout!
And don't forget to pick up a soundtrack for the game and listen to some funk while you wait for the game. http:/www.thefunkotronshop.com
Quickie Update!

Hi Gang,
Greg here with a quickie update to keep you all posted. First, my apologies - I know it's been a while since we've given an update to all you backers. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. I know you want to know, "when do we get the game!?"
We tried super hard to get ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove out in 2017. Game development is an inexact science and it's our priority to deliver the best, most solid game we can. To get the game across the finish line we need to push into 2018, but rest assured we are working our butts off and you guys are going to get an awesome game.
Thanks for the continued support and keeping the faith! We're working so hard over here and will have additional updates over the coming weeks and months.
-Greg and team
